Job Description:
Summary: The Area Director is responsible for overseeing all development, grassroots and political outreach for the pro-Israel community within the Baltimore Area. These responsibilities include educating activists about American and Israeli political developments, teaching activists how to be effective pro-Israel advocates in the political arena, inspiring people to become pro-Israel activists, while continuing to work with the current base of donors and activists. Detailed Duties:
Manage and achieve annual fundraising and political goals in the Baltimore Area.
Coordinate and execute an annual development plan, which includes face-to-face solicitations of donors, donor cultivation and stewardship and fundraising events.
Cultivate and recruit new AIPAC Club members ($1,500+ donors).
Prospect and solicit major donors ($10,000+ donors).
Oversee the AIPAC Baltimore Leadership Council as a means to engage and develop lay leadership and to support achievement of fundraising, political, national event attendance goals and local events attendance goals.
Recruit members for national and regional programs including the AIPAC Policy Conference, National Summit, Congressional Club Events, and the Baltimore Annual Event.
Manage a professional Baltimore area staff that currently includes a Leadership Management Director.
In partnership with the Regional Political Director, lead grassroots mobilizations within the area and solicit pro-Israel political participation.
Plan small and large-scale membership events.
Deliver speeches and briefings on the US-Israel relationship and pro-Israel activism. Qualifications/Skills:
Strong passion for Israel
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
3-5 years work experience in related field
Face-to-face solicitation or sales experience required
Understanding of the local and national political landscape
Ability to multitask
Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and with a team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Outstanding organizational skills
Public speaking skills
