Job Description:

This individual assists with the department’s outreach to progressives in Congress and the wider policy community. Reports to Assistant Director of Policy and Government Affairs/Director of Strategic Engagement and works under the general supervision of Deputy Director and Policy and GovernmentAffairsDirector(s). Detailed Duties: Draft educational materials, talking points, and memos relevant to AIPAC’s legislative and policy agenda Assist in organizing special events in DC for relevant Members and staff;
Attend and report on Congressional hearings, press conferences, think tank and public forum discussions, etc
Conduct research, compile requested information, maintain subject issue files, and draft related papers, memos, etc., as directed by senior PGA staff
Assist in the formulation of legislative strategy and in other specific policy formation processes
Draft and/review written materials including those distributed internally to staff as well as to AIPAC membership
Provide basic administrative support to senior PGA staff Other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Skills:
Experience in Democratic or Progressive policy or politics at the University level or higher strongly preferred
Bachelors’ degree
1-3 years experience in a related field or Master’s degree preferred
Knowledge of politics, particularly democratic politics
Passion for a strong U.S.- Israel relationship
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to conduct thorough research and draft related work product
Highly organized and excellent attention to detail
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Excellent writing skills are required; writing sample will be requested

    Ability to network and engage external contacts
