About the Business Line Transportation
We provide professional services in areas such as aviation, transit, freight rail, highways and bridges, planning, and ports and marine. Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.
Job Summary Manages project(s) with up to $5M contract value. The successful candidate plans, schedules, conducts, and supervises/leads the most technically competent staff within a multi-discipline team in the design, design support during construction, client and third party interface and coordination and other design related activities on high revenue, high complexity rail projects. Usually involves continuous client contact from the proposal stage to project completion. Provides overall project direction to the project team and sub-consultants while providing information about the status of the project to others in the firm. Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of design activities, including project budgets, schedules, and resources. Plans and conducts work requiring a significant level of judgment in the independent evaluation of requirements for complex commuter rail, and class 1 freight rail capital programs. Applies knowledge of rail operations and design criteria to devise new approaches to problems encountered. Ensures interface of project elements with other systems for overall reliability and safety of built facility. Initiates or escalates the correction of any conditions which may adversely affect the completion of the project on schedule and within budget. Also, responsible for client development.
Minimum Requirements Successful candidate shall have demonstrated 8+ years of project management experience overseeing the design of large scale railroad construction projects. Demonstrated 12 to 15+ years total relevant experience in multi-discipline railroad projects. California PE, and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required. Experience in the design management of capital improvements for commuter rail and class I railroads. Design of high speed rail and intermodal port facilities a plus. Experience working on SCRRA and LOSSAN Corridor projects a plus. Experience working on LA Metro, OCTA, SANDAG, and SANBAG rail projects is desirable.
